About the Opportunity
Cancer Care of Western New York is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Physicist to join our compassionate, patient-centered Radiation Oncology team in Western New York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a medical physicist seeking a collaborative clinical environment where advanced technology, clinical excellence, and exceptional patient care come together.
You will work closely with experienced Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, and clinical support staff, playing an essential role in the safe, accurate, and effective delivery of state-of-the-art radiation therapy.

Linear Accelerators / Treatment Hardware: Advanced Varian treatment platforms
Treatment Planning System: Varian Eclipse™ for IMRT, VMAT, 3D conformal planning, and advanced treatment planning
EHR / Oncology Information System: Varian ARIA® for clinical documentation, workflow management, treatment delivery, and image integration
Key Responsibilities
The Medical Physicist will be responsible for a broad range of clinical physics activities, including:
Perform comprehensive quality assurance (QA) on treatment units, imaging systems, and treatment planning equipment in accordance with applicable AAPM
Task Group recommendations, including TG-51 and TG-142.
Oversee and perform patient-specific QA, complex treatment planning support, and dosimetric calculations.
Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists and Dosimetrists to develop, evaluate, and optimize treatment plans.
Support the safe and accurate delivery of advanced radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT and VMAT.
Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in the commissioning, implementation, validation, and optimization of new radiation oncology technologies, equipment, and clinical protocols.
Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the Radiation Oncology department.
Provide clinical physics expertise and support to physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, and other members of the care team.

Qualifications
Required / Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a closely related field from a CAMPEP-accredited program.
Board Certification: ABR board-certified or board-eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
Clinical Experience: Hands-on experience with Varian linear accelerators, Eclipse treatment planning, and ARIA Oncology Information System preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Strong commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, accuracy, and clinical excellence.
