This is a regular, on-site position in our New Haven, CT location.
XingImaging, a leader in advanced research imaging and radiopharmaceutical services, is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Physicist for our state-of-the-art research facility in New Haven. The successful candidate will play a lead role in ensuring the safe and effective application of nuclear medicine technologies, contributing to clinical trials, advanced imaging services, and radiotracer manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment, including the United Imaging NeuroExplorer PET-CT scanner, and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on quality and precision-driven scientific services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Oversee the specification, acceptance testing, and regular quality control of nuclear medicine equipment, including PET-CT and SPECT-CT scanners.
- Ancillary Equipment Management: Oversee set-up and regular quality control of dose calibrator and gamma counters.
Data Acquisition and Processing: Design and implement methods for acquiring and processing images, ensuring high signal-to-noise ratios and reproducibility. - Radiation Safety: Act as the Medical Physics Expert and Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring adherence to radiation safety regulations to protect patients, staff, and the public.
- Research and Development: Collaborate on the development of new imaging techniques and radiotracers, contributing to the advancement of imaging markers and clinical trials.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain well-documented systems for managing and organizing processes, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Training and Education: Provide training to staff on the safe and effective use of nuclear medicine technologies and protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Master’s or doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a closely related field.
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in nuclear medicine physics within a clinical or research setting. Experience with PET-CT imaging technologies.
Certifications: Board certification in Nuclear Medicine Physics from a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics).
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in medical image processing and analysis software.
- In-depth knowledge of radiation safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SPECT-CT imaging technologies.
- Familiarity with reconstruction algorithms and their evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and contribute to scientific publications.
Unique Department Requirements:
- Exposure to ionizing radiation
